OG Necron Lord

The original Necron Lord from GW. I turned his right hand around and added a small ball to stand in for a control orb. The cloak of gold panels in NMM drove me slightly insane. I also carved the crystals on his base out of old sprue.

Old School Ogryn

This has been a year of clearing out the backlog of figures that have sat on the shelf unpainted and laughing at me for years. This 40K Ogryn is one of those. He was fun painting, especially with a face of large features instead of the tiny ones I normally deal with.

Imperator Titan

This is an Imperator Titan from the old GW Epic 40K game. I always thought the big gun on the tallest tower looked goofy and impractical, so I replaced it with a Space Marine backpack decoration. The base, by the way, is a compact disc covered in a layer of cork.

The SEC Marines Project (West Division)

Here's the other half of my effort to paint Space Marines representing the 14 schools of the Southeastern Conference. Here's the teams of the West.

Alabama (Due to this team's long history of national championships, I felt it right that they should be the standard bearer)

Arkansas (this came out pinker than I wanted. There are too many damn reds in this conference and I tried to give the Razorbacks a "cardinal" red)

Auburn

Louisiana State

Mississippi State

Ole Miss

Texas A&M

The SEC Marines Project (East Division)

I went to the University of Georgia, which plays in the NCAA's Southeastern Conference, or SEC. Years ago, I wanted to paint a Space Marine representing Georgia's colors and "G" symbol. My wife, who went to fellow SEC school Florida, also wanted a Marine of her team. Then it hit me, why not do the entire conference, put them on a single base and have something to put by the TV come football season? I finished them several years ago but had to go back and revisit the project when the SEC added two teams a couple years ago. So, here's the first of two looks at my SEC Marines, featuring the teams of the Eastern Conference:

Georgia (note Georgia Tech-colored Tyranid):

Florida (sporting a garnet-and-gold helmet from hated Florida State):

Tennessee:

Missouri:

South Carolina:

Inquisition Stormtrooper

Here's my latest work, an older GW Imperial stormtrooper painted up as part of an Inquisitor's retinue. I think after painting so much fantasy-related stuff, I was itching to paint somebody with a gun.
